Aluminum vs Steel
At Kattsafe USA, we carry high-grade aluminum fall safety equipment and rooftop access materials. Many people associate steel with strength, but our aluminum products are more durable, lightweight and effective. In this section, we explain why we choose aluminum over steel to supply companies with equipment they can trust.
Corrosion resistance
Aluminum resists rust while reducing the cost and lifetime maintenance. Ensures OSHA compliance is maintained. Steel fixed ladders, guardrails and platforms require galvanization or need to be made from stainless steel.
Light weight
Steel products are harder to transport, maneuver and cost more to ship, install and maintain. Aluminum systems are modular, lightweight and easy to maneuver and install with little to no additional equipment needed
Lead time
Steel must be fabricated to order. Lead times are typically 4-5 weeks. Our aluminum components are pre-fabricated and engineered to be modular so they’re read to ship.
On-site customization
Steel is difficult to cut on-site. Often, it requires a hot permit and welding. High tensile aluminum can be easily cut on-site to exact measurements.
Fixed ladder rungs
Steel fixed ladders generally have narrow rungs that are uncomfortable and less safe for the end user. Our aluminum fixed ladders feature ergonomically designed profiled rungs for increased safety and comfort for the end user.
