System overview
Installed alongside a continuous fixed ladder, the Midway Rest Platform provides a stable place for workers to pause during long climbs without transferring to a separate ladder section. It can help reduce fatigue and improve climbing comfort, especially on tall ladders or frequently accessed routes.
When a fixed ladder is equipped with a personal fall arrest system or ladder safety system, OSHA requires rest platforms at intervals no greater than 150 feet. Platforms may also be incorporated at shorter intervals based on the ladder height, frequency of use, and site-specific access needs (OSHA 1910.28(b)(9)(ii)).
