System overview
Designed for multi-section fixed ladder systems, the Change in Direction Platform provides a guarded transition between offset ladder sections. It gives workers a stable area to step off one ladder, reposition, and continue the climb from an adjacent section, making it ideal for tall or complex access configurations.
For ladder sections equipped with a cage or well, OSHA requires adjacent sections to be offset and landing platforms to be provided at intervals no greater than 50 feet. The Change in Direction Platform can help accommodate this type of configuration as part of a properly designed ladder system (OSHA 1910.28(b)(9)(iii)).
